|   | How We Met:     Basically we met each other in one of the most unlikely places... Country Concert 2001. A four day country music festival filled with beer, mud, unidentified stenches, 30,000 loud, dirty hillbillies, and apparently true love (who'd of guessed?!) I was there with my usual veteran country music lovers. When we arrived at the concert Thursday, I was introduced to three new faces that would be staying with us that year at our campsite. They were three impressionable young ladies from the University of Findlay. One of them caught my eye immediately. There stood Jamie… a gorgeous brown-haired, blue-eyed, long-legged, slender, shy (at the time) girl. It wasn't until Saturday night when I finally got this attractive country girl (Jamie) to start talking to me. For about 3 hours that night while we talked and helped fat ladies over the fence, I was amazed at the thought of meeting her at Country Concert. After three days of showering only when it rained outside, and many beers later, we still were attracted to each other. When I headed back to Bowling Green that Sunday, I figured I would never hear from her again... but low and behold, this shy little country girl got enough courage to call me up in BG and ask me to come to Findlay to one of their parties. Did I go? You're damn right I went. There wasn't any hesitation; I had to see her again. When I got there the spark came right back. It took us a little while, but we eventually started dating and have never looked back since. It has almost been like a fairy tale love story. True love... We wouldn't trade it for any feeling in the world. |

Our Engagement Story:     I proposed to Jamie Saturday, November 2, 2002 on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Yeah, I love the Irish, but if you've ever been on the campus of ND you should know how gorgeous it is during the fall when the leaves are changing. Jamie's favorite season is fall, and therefore seemed like a great setting for the second most important day of my life.     We couldn't afford tickets to the game since they were running $200 a piece, so we decided to watch the game from the Joyce Center (basketball/hockey arena). My original plan was to take her to the Grotto where we would light a candle, say a prayer, and then pop the question. Low and behold the Grotto was on the complete opposite corner of campus than the football stadium. I had to improvise, so what could be more beautiful than having the golden dome in the background?! My stomach was in knots as we approached the site where everything was about to unfold. I told Jamie to wait for me in front of the dome as I asked two strangers to take our picture. I asked them to take a picture of my girlfriend and I in front of the golden dome, and then told them that I was going to propose after they took the first picture... their jaws dropped. At first the camera didn't work, and it was an agonizing few minutes. Finally, they took the picture and I had to pull Jamie back from going to get the cameras. I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me... she said "Are you serious?!" Once I pulled out the ring she knew I was very serious. She said, "YES!" and the rest is history.     To see pictures of the "big event" unfolding, CLICK HERE Back To Top |
|   | A Note From The Couple:     We would like to thank everybody for their love and support especially our families. Without them none of this would have been possible. They have accepted both of us into their families with open arms. Our parents have been so great throughout this process. We more than appreciate their help. |
